New Class offerings at the Bloomington Center for the Arts!

​

Join Concerto Dance every third Saturday of the month for teen/adult drop-in jazz dance classes. Our signature jazz dance style blends vernacular and classical jazz dance in a virtuosic, high energy and highly musical context. Classes draw from the historical African diasporic roots of jazz and trace jazz dance through its development in the United States in the 20th century. Our aim is that participants encounter the historical roots and possibilities of jazz while experiencing the freedom, joy and community found in jazz dance.

Jan. 20th – African Roots

Feb. 17th – Vernacular Jazz of the Swing Era

March 16th – Mid Century Classical Jazz

April 20th – Broadway Jazz

May 18th – Jazz Funk

Ages 14 & Up

Open Level: 9-10am, $15/class

Int./Advanced: 10-11:30am, $20/class

All participants will be asked to sign a waiver, if under 18 a parent or guardian signature is required.
