"Absolutely loved the combination of dance and film! Incredible!"
"The show was fantastic in every way! Just want more!!!"
"The program was so different from most dance performances. It was about a subject that most of the audience members knew nothing about. It was like a live documentary with the inclusion of real footage on film, actors playing the roles of the historical women in jazz, and then seeing the interpretation of what we had just learned through extraordinary dancing. It flowed seamlessly. Bravo!"

Musical Squares review by Linda Shapiro
“Musical Squares”reveals a distinct choreographic voice. Its considerable wit comes from choreographic choices that keep surprising us with their ingenuity and delighting us with flashes of character revelation. Based on the game of musical chairs, the piece begins with a young woman balanced precariously atop four boxes, in a pink satin frou-frou of a dress. With her stylized gestures and drama queen affect, she seems like a Valley Girl contemplating life at the top of the clique. Four other girls enter, upsetting her little apple cart by toppling the boxes. A game of musical boxes ensues in which there is constantly an odd-girl-out. This motif animates the zany architecture of the piece, which perfectly captures the unpredictable and hyperbolic behavior of adolescent girls and their
simultaneous funny-and-poignant need to be accepted by the “group”.
